It’s often the simplest things in life that truly make the difference…

A tower of stones.

2022…. has just started. But what did I learn from 2021?

She taught me about courage, acceptance, and the importance of telling the people we love that we love them; and what they bring into our life because life can be fragile.

2021 has come and gone in some ways like a calming breeze and other ways a wild, rainy, and windy journey… We are blessed to live where we do in Queensland, but we still confess to being COVID-fatigued like the rest of the world. The constant deluge of information – sad, life-threatening, confusing, and ever-changing has consumed most of us for not just one, but 2 years now. And I know that many of us are wondering what 2022 will bring… I know, I am.

2021 was a tough year on a personal front for so many I know and love dearly. And there is no doubt that our health, and the health of those we love, is truly the mainstay for personal happiness in life. So, if 2021 was a “tough” year for you, then please know that I am sending you the BIGGEST of hugs and a wish that 2022 brings you and those you love, a year of freshness, calm, revitalization, and connection.

Last year I have met some phenomenally special people. I have connected with people from across the world, who share my passion for creating a world that is compassionate. One that embraces kindness and one that knows that often it is the simplest things in life that make a profound difference. One of the most profound learnings for me this year was to meet a very special lady, Maureen. She left an indelible imprint upon my heart after our paths crossed only briefly. She taught me about courage, acceptance, and the importance of telling the people we love that we love them; and what they bring into our life because life can be fragile. ❤ She taught me how I can become a better person to others. To be bold. And to just go with what I know is right, not conventional.

This year, I am sure will be a year of change. And I will “put it out there” – that it will be a year where we will all find our place ~ what is most important to us; not sweating the small stuff; and being part of The Kindness Pandemic as we learn to live with COVID-19 and all the other changes it has brought into our lives.  May your 2022, be gentle, peaceful and bring you joy!
